TV Shows Ending In 2025: And Just Like That, The Boys, Stranger Things, Resident Alien And 20+ Others

TV fanatics are still recovering from a tough year of goodbyes, having bid adieu to at least 87 series that ended in 2024. And this year? We should prepare for more of the same, it seems.

Although the list below doesn't quite feature 80-plus shows (yet), we are keeping track of the two-dozen-plus-and-counting series that will wrap their runs in 2025.

At the moment, broadcast-TV fans have it slightly easier, with ABC's The Conners and two of CBS' FBIs among the handful of broadcast series confirmed to end thus far. Meanwhile, if you watch a lot of streaming shows — especially on Netflix — you might be in for a long string of farewells, including send-offs for Squid Game, Stranger Things, The Handmaid's Tale and Good Omens.

Not every departing show has a premiere and/or finale date just yet, but we'll be updating this list with new intel as it gets announced; be sure to bookmark it for the most current information! (Series that appear slated to end in 2026 or later, like Netflix's Outer Banks and The Witcher, are not currently on our list, but may get added as scheduling news breaks.)

Fox's 9-1-1 offshoot ended with its fifth season; the series finale aired Feb. 3.

And Just Like That... the Sex and the City revival is over. HBO Max announced Friday, Aug. 1 that the sequel series will end its three-season run with a two-part series finale, airing Thursday, Aug. 7 and 14.

After just two seasons, Disney+'s Rogue One prequel series finished with its May 13 series finale.

Peacock's Fresh Prince of Bel-Air reimagining was renewed in December 2024 for a fourth and final season. A premiere timetable has not been announced, but the show has released a new season annually since its debut in 2022.

Netflix's adult animated series returned for its eighth and final season on May 23.

MGM+ renewed its Western period drama for a third and final season in October 2024. The swan song will premiere sometime in 2025.

Netflix's animated fantasy series concluded with Season 3, which released May 8 on the streamer.

Prime Video's adaptation of Michael Connelly's Harry Bosch novels wrapped up with Bosch: Legacy's third season, which ended with an April 17 series finale. The Bosch-verse will continue, though, via a spinoff focused on Maggie Q's Det. Renée Ballard; the offshoot premieres in the summer.

According to series creator Eric Kripke, production on The Boys' fifth and final season began in November 2024. It has yet to be confirmed, though, whether the superhero satire will return for its conclusion in 2025 or 2026. (We're crossing our fingers for the former!)

Netflix's Karate Kid continuation came to an end with its sixth season; the series finale released Feb. 13.

After seven seasons, ABC's Roseanne continuation ended with an April 23 series finale. (Read our post mortem Q&A with EPs Bruce Helford, Bruce Rasmussen and Dave Caplan.)

In March 2025, CBS cancelled both of its FBI offshoots, neither of which will return for the 2025-26 TV season. FBI: International and FBI: Most Wanted both aired their series finales on May 20.

The good news: Prime Video's Good Omens adaptation will be back for a third and final season. The bad news: The swan song will now consist of just one, 90-minute episode, after several sexual assault allegations were brought against showrunner and book co-author Neil Gaiman. Production will get underway in early 2025; though Gaiman contributed to the episode's writing, he will not work on the production.

Season 6 was the last for Hulu's dystopian drama, which concluded for good on May 27.

Harlem's third and final season wrapped up with a Feb. 6 series finale.

The Australian teen drama will return to Netflix for a third and final season sometime in 2025.

Season 2 will be the last for Max's Spanish-language adaptation of Laura Esquivel's novel. It will premiere sometime in 2025.

After quite a long hiatus — Season 1 released back in August 2022 — Mohammed Amer's Netflix comedy dropped its second and final season on Jan. 30.

Starz's adaptation of Diana Gabaldon's novel series will conclude with Season 8. Although an exact premiere date has yet to be announced, the final season is expected sometime in 2025.

Power Book IV: Force — the Power spinoff centered on Joseph Sikora's Tommy Egan — will end with its upcoming third season at Starz, premiering sometime in Fall 2025.

Just three episodes ahead of its finale, creator Chris Sheridan announced that Season 4 would be its last. The now-series finale is set to air Friday, Aug. 8 on Syfy and USA Network.

Season 4 was the last for HBO's televangelist comedy; the series finale aired May 4.

Netflix's fantasy drama based on Neil Gaiman's comic series has been cancelled at the streamer and will now end with Season 2, releasing in three parts: Volume 1, consisting of six episodes, dropped Thursday, July 3; Volume 2, consisting of five episodes, follows on Thursday, July 24. The last episode of Volume 2 will conclude the story of Dream, played by Tom Sturridge; a Death-centric bonus episode will then wrap up the series on Thursday, July 31.

The Sandman's cancellation comes as Gaiman faces multiple sexual assault allegations, though discussion about ending the series after Season 2 had reportedly been going on for some time.

Netflix's hit Korean drama wrapped up with Season 3, which released on June 27.

Fans of Netflix's supernatural drama — which last released new episodes back in July 2022 (!) — will have their patience rewarded in 2025, when the series releases its fifth and final season in three parts: Volume 1 will drop on Wednesday, Nov. 26, with Volume 2 debuting Christmas Day and, finally, the series finale landing on New Year's Eve. All three releases will be at 5 pm PT.

Prime Video's teen drama — based on creator/showrunner Jenny Han's book trilogy — will end with its current third season, new episodes of which release Wednesdays through Sept. 17.

For the third and final time, S.W.A.T. has been cancelled at CBS; its series finale aired May 16. But! The S.W.A.T.-verse will continue via the upcoming spinoff S.W.A.T. EXILES (network TBD), with Shemar Moore reprising his role of Daniel "Hondo" Harrelson. (Get details!)

Prime Video's sci-fi comedy will return for a fourth and final season on Monday, Aug. 25.

The British crime drama — which streams Stateside via BritBox and Roku Channel — came to an end with its 14th season at the start of the year. The series finale landed on BritBox on Jan. 9.

Penn Badgley's serial killer drama returned to Netflix for its fifth and final season on April 24.
