TVLine Readers Give Thanks For NCIS Prequel, Bewitching Agatha Episode, Wynonna Earp Reunion And More

Before we load up our plates with mashed potatoes and green bean casserole, we're going around the proverbial Thanksgiving table to share some TV-related gratitude.

Earlier this month, we asked you to send in the small-screen developments for which you're especially thankful this year, and you responded with appreciation for everything from Wynonna Earp's reunion special to the leading men of Netflix's Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story.

In the list below, we've singled out 15 expressions of thankfulness, including recognition for the expansion of the Big Bang Theory and NCIS universes, Bill Lawrence's one-two punch of Bad Monkey and Shrinking, The Penguin's outstanding prosthetics work, and an especially spellbinding episode of Agatha All Along.

Plus, readers tipped their hats to rookie series like English Teacher, High Potential and Matlock, while The Traitors, Found and Will Trent were also among the shows to earn kudos this year. (Note: Submissions have been edited for content and clarity.)

Andrew Says...

"I can't say I thought I'd say this two months ago, but I'm thankful for the fun role that the show Matlock has given to Kathy Bates. She's one of the best actors of her generation, and she is magnificent in this title role. In addition, the show's 'secret' premise is absolutely brilliant and has an underlying level of intrigue that puts you into detective mode every episode to see if you can figure out the 'reveal' that comes near the end of the hour."

Merissa Says...

"I'm ever so thankful for Shōgun. That show brought such beauty, historically accurate Japanese culture, not to mention the performances... wow! Well-deserved recognition at the Emmys!"

Carolyn Says...

"I am thankful that we still have the Coopers in our lives through Georgie and Mandy's First Marriage."

Shirley Says...

"I'd like to thank FX for giving us comedic genius in the form of Brian Jordan Alvarez's English Teacher."

Robert Says...

"We're thankful for a new, smart, fun, well-acted, well-written procedural on a broadcast network: ABC's High Potential. We had been sad that we had to wait until midseason for the return of Will Trent, but High Potential has filled the void nicely."

Speaking of Will Trent, Laura Says...

"Will Trent did not let up, and even with a shortened [second] season, the dysfunction that is Will and Angie, Will's long-lost uncle and the complex supporting cast rounded out one of the best things out there."

Evan Says...

"I'm thankful Peacock brought The Traitors to the U.S. Not only is it devilishly addictive, but it reinvigorated the subcategory of reality competition shows featuring former/current reality stars with shows like Prime Video's The GOAT and E!'s House of Villains. This has seriously been lacking since the days of VH1's Charm School and I Love Money."

Erin Says...

"This TV season I am thankful for Bill Lawrence! He makes such great TV! His comedies are a perfect mix of heartfelt moments and laughter. Scrubs, Cougar Town (a very underrated comedy) and Ted Lasso easily became my comfort shows. How great is it that not only did we get Season 2 of Shrinking this year, but Bad Monkey as well! Both great shows with fantastic casts! Shrinking has easily become a favorite and I am loving the new season. I really hope there are some Emmy nominations for both shows in the future!"

Will Says...

"I'm thankful that Justin Hartley has returned to TV in a very strong way with his new series Tracker. Based on a novel by one of my favorite authors, Jeffery Deaver, the show is fast-paced, well-written and has quickly climbed into my Top 5 weekly faves. I look forward to many more episodes and seasons."

Pamela Says...

"I'm most thankful for the NBC production of Found — a new idea mixed up with power issues, showing even people who see themselves as misfits can fit in and be productive."

Lauren Says...

"I'm thankful for being introduced to Nicholas Alexander Chavez and Cooper Koch [on Netflix's Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story]! Amazing actors!"

Mimi Says...

"I am grateful I got to see one final season of Wynonna Earp! The characters remain as feisty, complex and hilarious as ever. It was wonderful to see the storyline continue in a reasonable, sensible way."

Maria Says...

"I'm thankful for the NCIS-verse expanding into prequels with NCIS: Origins. It is an amazing show and will hopefully open the door to more young versions of beloved characters!"

Melissa Says...

"I am grateful this year for The Penguin. Each episode of this show has been excellent in every aspect, and the performances by Colin Farrell and Cristin Milioti are out of this world! Special kudos to makeup and prosthetics artist Mike Marino for his work with Farrell, as well. Definitely hoping there will be more episodes to come!"

Tyler Says...

"I am grateful for the Agatha All Along episode 'Death's Hand in Mine.' It has been a long time since an episode of television has left me so grief-stricken and sad, but still overall impressed. I've watched the final tarot reading sequence dozens of times, and I can now quote it. Beautiful work from Patti LuPone and everyone involved."
