Veronica Mars: 15 Iconic Logan Echolls Scenes

Season 1, Episode 1, "Pilot"

A character's first scene tells you a lot about them. With this fleeting but pivotal moment, the series establishes Logan as Neptune High's "obligatory psychotic jackass" (courtesy of the titular PI's voiceover). 

Season 1, Episode 6, "Return of the Kane"

In one of the darkest moments in Logan's arc, if not the darkest, the teen has to pick out the belt with which his father will beat him.

Season 1, Episode 15, "Ruskie Business"

The jackass starts to turn a corner when he hires Veronica to prove his mother didn't kill herself. But when it turns out that his last bit of hope is just his sister masquerading as Mom, Logan breaks down in Veronica's arms. We can still hear his anguished cries of, "She's gone." (Sob.)

Season 1, Episode 18, "Weapons of Class Destruction"

After coming to Veronica's rescue and punching Jonathan Taylor Thomas' undercover FBI agent — "Dream on, Jump Street. I'm not leaving you alone with her." — Logan gets a thank-you peck... which turns into a full-blown kiss that forever changes the series.

Season 1, Episode 21, "A Trip to the Dentist"

Logan and Veronica's secret relationship goes unexpectedly public when Aaron decides to throw his son a surprise birthday party with his classmates in attendance. Still, Logan doesn't hesitate to take Veronica's hand and declare that anyone who doesn't like his girlfriend can exit.

Season 1, Episode 22, "Leave It to Beaver"

After losing Veronica, who mistakenly thought her beau had killed his ex-girlfriend Lilly, Logan finds himself teetering on a bridge, much like his mother did. Then the PCHers pull up, but as far as Logan is concerned, there isn't anything they can do to him that would be worse than how he's currently feeling. 

Season 2, Episode 9, "My Mother, the Fiend"

After finding out that the Fitzpatricks and someone from the PCHers are in cahoots, Weevil and Logan team up — but first they have an all-out brawl in the bathroom. Gotta keep up appearances, after all.

Season 2, Episode 10, "One Angry Veronica"

In a quieter moment for the tempestuous character, Logan tearfully watches the sex tapes of his father and his ex Lilly before destroying them. Even the simple way he pulls on his sleeves as he cries is enough to break your heart.

Season 2, Episode 20, "Look Who's Stalking"

Logan's attempt to reconcile with Veronica on prom night is... well, we'll let him take it away: "I thought our story was epic, you know, you and me... Spanning years and continents. Lives ruined, bloodshed. Epic. But summer's almost here, and we won't see each other at all. And then you'll leave town and... It's over."

Season 2, Episode 22, "Not Pictured"

Logan once again shows up for Veronica when it matters and pulls her back from doing something she'll regret in the Season 2 ender. "You are not a killer, Veronica. Give me the gun," he pleads as Veronica points the weapon at murderer/rapist Cassidy. We shudder to think what would have happened if he hadn't shown up.

Season 3, Episode 4, "Charlie Don't Surf" 

As if listening to Logan recount to his brother Charlie Stone (guest star Matt Czuchry) how Aaron tormented and abused him wasn't crushing enough, Logan discovers shortly thereafter that "Charlie" is actually a reporter. (Sadly, Logan and his real bro, played by New Amsterdam's Ryan Eggold, never met.)

Season 3, Episode 8, "Lord of the Pi's"

This might surprise you, but Veronica and Logan don't actually verbally declare their love for each other very often, which makes this moment all the more significant. After her latest rape case puts Veronica in danger, Logan secretly hires someone to protect her, leading to a huge blowout. "I love you. Do you love me?" he asks mid-argument. She says she does, but that doesn't make the fight any less painful. 

Season 3, Episode 20, "The Bitch Is Back" 

Never one to shy away from a physical altercation, Logan beats up Gory, knowing full well that the guy who released a tape of Veronica and Piz fooling around is connected. "Whoever you are, you're gonna die," Gory declares. "Yeah, someday," Logan replies with a twisted smile.

Logan is in the Navy?! The sight of the former troublemaker picking up Veronica at the airport in his dress whites is a jaw-dropper. Oh, how times — and Logan — have changed!

Season 2, Episode 8, "Ahoy, Mateys!"

Logan is arrested more than once for Felix's murder during the sophomore season. So by the time Veronica finds herself in Liam Fitzpatrick's dangerous clutches, Logan's feeling a little daring and bursts into the River Styx with a gun. "I've had a very bad year," he declares. Understatement!
