Game Of Thrones Spinoff Gets HBO Premiere Date — Watch First Trailer For A Knight Of The Seven Kingdoms

"This Winter, Spring is coming."

That's the official word from HBO, which on Oct. 6 released official key art for Game of Thrones' latest spinoff, A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, featuring Ser Duncan the Tall (aka Dunk, played by Bad Sisters' Peter Claffey) and his bald, young squire, Egg (Emmerdale's Dexter Sol Ansell). The tagline reads: "A tall tale that became legend."

Then on Thursday, at New York Comic Con, the network announced that the offshoot's inaugural, six-episode run will kick off Sunday, Jan. 18 at 10/9c. Watch the trailer above.

Per the official logline, A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms is set a century before the events of Game of Thrones, "in an age when the Targaryen line still holds the Iron Throne, and the memory of the last dragon has not yet passed from living memory," and "great destinies, powerful foes, and dangerous exploits all await these improbable and incomparable friends."

Rounding out the cast are Daniel Ings (Ser Lyonel Baratheon), Bertie Carvel (Baelor Targaryen), Danny Webb (Ser Arlan of Pennytree), Sam Spruell (Maekar Targaryen), Shaun Thomas (Raymun Fossoway), Finn Bennett (Aerion Targaryen), Edward Ashley (Ser Steffon Fossoway), Tanzyn Crawford (Tanselle), Henry Ashton (Daeron Targaryen), Youssef Kerkour (Steely Pate), Tom Vaughan-Lawlor (Plummer), and Daniel Monks (Ser Manfred Dondarrion).

Owen Harris — who directed Black Mirror's "San Junipero" and also helmed episodes of Mrs. DavisMisfits and The Twilight Zone — and Sarah Adina Smith serve as directors on Season 1.

The prequel was formally announced in April 2023. It's co-created and executive-produced by George R.R. Martin and Ira Parker, with House of the Dragon showrunner Ryan Condal, Sarah Bradshaw, Vince Gerardis and Harris.
