Beyond The Gates Casts Days Of Our Lives Vet Greg Vaughan In Mystery Role

A veteran soap star is heading to Fairmont Crest.

Greg Vaughan, a veteran of Days of Our Lives, General Hospital and The Young and the Restless, will join Beyond the Gates later this season, Soap Opera Network reports. Character details have not yet been disclosed.

Vaughan's arrival won't be the first major cast shake-up for the CBS daytime series: In May, Beyond the Gates delivered its first recast when Maurice Johnson was swapped out for Keith D. Robinson as Dr. Ted Richardson. Then in September, the show killed off its first major character, surgeon Doug McBride (Jason Graham).

Vaughan made his TV debut in 1996, appearing on Baywatch, Malibu Shores and Beverly Hills, 90210. He went on to guest-star in several other series, including Charmed, Glory Days, Will & Grace and Sabrina, the Teenage Witch, before entering the soap world in 2002 as Diego Guttierez on Y&R. That was followed by a years-long stint as Lucky Spencer on GH.

In 2012, he was cast as Eric Brady on Days — a role he would continue to inhabit off-and-on until earlier this year. His work on Days earned him a Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series in 2018.
