Big Brother Crowns A New Head Of Household After Short Endurance Competition — Find Out Who Won
The following post contains spoilers for events happening on Big Brother's live feeds, which will not air on CBS until Sunday, Sept. 17.
Well, that was certainly no Pressure Cooker.
Big Brother's latest Head of Household competition — an endurance-based game known to fans as The Wall Competition — ended less than an hour after it began on Thursday night, with Jared Fields emerging victorious as the new HOH. This marks Jared's second HOH triumph of the season; he previously held that position during Week 5, and he's now kicking off Week 7 with the win.
The Wall Competition is a straightforward one: Houseguests must hang on tight to an ever-tilting wall, with minimally helpful handholds and footholds keeping them upright as the wall shifts, slime is poured on the players and their bodies are hit with oversized balls. (Yes, it's as delightful to watch as it sounds.) Thursday's iteration of the competition came down to Jared, Bowie and Blue. When Blue eventually fell off the wall, Bowie then jumped off seconds later — seemingly on purpose, at least to yours truly — leaving Jared to win the competition.
Jared's victory comes on the heels of (once again, spoiler alert!) Izzy getting evicted from the house in an 8-1 vote on Thursday. Felicia, who sat next to Izzy on the nomination block all week, was initially set to go home, until America and Cory orchestrated a vote flip; read our full recap of Thursday's episode for details.
Earlier this season, Big Brother brought back another iconic endurance competition: the Pressure Cooker, which hadn't been played since Season 6. That competition lasted nearly 14 hours... admittedly a far cry from the houseguests' 45 minutes on the wall on Thursday.
What do you make of Jared becoming Head of Household (again)? Who do you think he'll nominate for eviction? Tell us below!
