Candace Cameron Bure And Cameron Mathison To Star In Home Sweet Christmas For Great American Family
Great American Family is gifting fans of Candace Cameron Bure with not one, but two Christmas movies this holiday season.
TVLine exclusively revealed the title, premise and first photo from A Christmas Less Traveled, which centers on a down-on-her-luck proprietor (played by Bure) who embarks on a life-changing road trip. Now, Great American Family is announcing that Bure will also executive-produce and star in Home Sweet Christmas, opposite soap vet Cameron Mathison.
The made-for-TV movie casts Bure as Sophie Marlow, "a successful mergers and acquisitions attorney, is called home to Waynesbridge, Washington, following her great uncle's passing. Uncle Henry left Sophie 60% ownership in his Marlow Maple Meadows, a sprawling patch of sugar maple forest. Though Sophie hasn't been on the property in decades, she immediately begins retracing the happy steps of her youth before encountering Sam (Mathison), her long-lost, childhood friend. Sam has returned to the farm after learning Henry left him the other 40% of the property. The legacy property means a quick sale is likely, though Sophie and Sam will discover neither of them is ready to let go just yet."
Great American Family previously announced that Bure and Mathison would star in a different Christmas movie this year, titled Jingle Bells, Wedding Bells. On Wednesday, the network confirmed that it would move forward with Home Sweet Christmas instead, and Jingle Bells, Wedding Bells would not go into production in 2024.
Both A Christmas Less Traveled and Home Sweet Christmas will arrive this holiday season as part of the network's annual "Great American Christmas" line-up.
Bure previously executive-produced and starred in a pair of Great American Family Christmas movies: 2022's A Christmas... Present and 2023's My Christmas Hero. She also served as an EP on 2022's Christmas on Candy Cane Lane (starring Full House's Andrea Barber) and 2023's A Christmas for the Ages (starring Natasha Bure).
