Comcast Launches New Streaming Bundle For Sports And News Channels — Here's How Much It Will Cost
Customers of Comcast's Xfinity Internet now have a new option for streaming live television.
The company has launched a streaming bundle called the Xfinity Sports & News TV package, which will be available to Xfinity Internet broadband customers. For a monthly cost of $70 (when combined with Xfinity Internet), subscribers will get access to more than 50 channels offering all-around sports and news coverage; in addition to the major broadcast networks, available channels include ESPN, the Big Ten Network, FS1, CNN, MSNBC and Fox News.
Plus, the Sports & News TV package includes a Peacock Premium subscription at no extra cost to those who sign up, as well as 300 hours of DVR storage. As noted on Xfinity's official landing page for the bundle, Sports & News TV comes in at $12.99 less per month than a standard subscription to YouTube TV or Hulu + Live TV.
"With Sports & News TV, we've brought together top networks for live sports and news and Peacock, the best streaming service for sports fans, to create a new video bundle packed with the best content at an unbeatable price, all accessible within a premium viewing experience that makes it easy for customers to find the content they care about most," John Dixon, senior vice president of entertainment for Comcast, said in a statement. "Sports & News TV is a terrific option for customers looking for a great value in entertainment without sacrificing their favorite live sports and news channels."
In May 2024, Comcast similarly launched the Xfinity StreamSaver bundle, which offers access to Netflix, Peacock and Apple TV+ for $15 a month. New and existing customers can also combine the Streamsaver bundle with NOW TV, offering them more than 125 live TV channels — in addition to the three aforementioned streamers — for $30 per month.
The launch of Xfinity's Sports & News TV bundle comes two weeks after Disney, Warner Bros. and Fox opted to scrap the joint creation of a new sports streaming service named Venu Sports (pronounced like "venue"). First announced last February, the sports-centric platform would have given subscribers access to ESPN, ESPN2, ESPNU, SECN, ACCN, ESPNEWS, ABC, Fox, FS1, FS2, BTN, TNT, TBS, truTV and ESPN+, for a monthly cost of $42.99.
