Save The Dates: Michael Shannon Plays Prez For Netflix, Great British Baking Show Warms Up And More
Michael Shannon will be throwing his hat in the ring on Netflix this fall.
Shannon stars as U.S. President James Garfield in Death by Lightning, which premieres Thursday, Nov. 6, the streamer has revealed. Netflix has also released first-look photos from the miniseries, which you can see below.
Death by Lightning tells "the epic and stranger-than-fiction true story of James Garfield, reluctant 20th president of the United States, and Charles Guiteau — a man who was not only Garfield's greatest admirer but also his assassin," per the official synopsis. Matthew Macfadyen (Succession) co-stars as Guiteau, with a supporting cast that includes Betty Gilpin, Nick Offerman, and Shea Whigham.

* Eugene Levy's Apple TV+ travel series The Reluctant Traveler With Eugene Levy will return for an eight-episode Season 3 on Friday, Sept. 19.
* Disney+ will unveil a restored and remastered version of the acclaimed documentary series The Beatles Anthology on Wednesday, Nov. 26, including a new ninth episode with previously unseen footage of band members Paul McCartney, George Harrison and Ringo Starr reuniting to record new music and "reflecting on their shared life as The Beatles."
