Diarra From Detroit Renewed For Season 2 At BET+
Diarra From Detroit fans, you're not getting ghosted.
BET+ has renewed the well-received dramedy for a Season 2, TVLine has learned. Bryan Terrell Clark, DomiNque Perry, and Jon Chaffin are confirmed to return as series regulars alongside star and creator Diarra Kilpatrick.
"We're excited to be back and grateful for the opportunity to take viewers on another very wild, very Detroit adventure," Kilpatrick said in a statement.
"It has been incredible watching fans and critics embrace this show in the way that they have and we're so excited to be back for more," executive producer Kenya Barris added. "Last season proved just how wildly talented Diarra Kilpatrick is and I, for one, can't wait for everyone to see what her and the team have in store this time around."
Season 1 followed a divorcing schoolteacher (Kilpatrick) who refuses to believe she's been ghosted by her rebound Tinder date. She's determined to find where he is, and stumbles into a decades-old mystery within the Detroit underworld during her search. As the case deepens, Diarra is joined by coworkers, friends and lovers — forming an unlikely crew navigating danger and secrets. (TVLine's Diedre Johnson gave the freshman season an "A-," calling it a "suspenseful, irreverent triumph.")
A Season 2 premiere date has not yet been announced.
