The View Hosts Celebrate Donald Trump's Guilty Verdict: 'I Got So Excited, I Started Leaking' (Watch)

Friday's broadcast of The View was supposed to be a pre-taped episode, but those plans changed Thursday afternoon when Donald Trump was found guilty of all 34 felony charges in his ongoing hush money trial — as if this show would pass up the chance to celebrate what Joy Behar is presumably lobbying to make a national holiday.

"Yes, I'm here on a Friday, because this is a very unique moment in history," Whoopi Goldberg began. "That's why we're all at the table. I'm going to say something you've never, ever heard me say before: Donald John Trump is a convicted felon."

The announcement, despite Goldberg accidentally pronouncing "convicted" as "confected," was met with ferocious applause from the studio audience. "This was not a Biden thing," Goldberg added. Had he just paid the money, he would have been fine. ... Instead, he was cheap, and that's what you get!"

Behar then recalled where she was when she first heard the news: "I was at Costco buying 10 boxes of Keurig coffee. My watch started to buzz, and I got so excited, I started leaking a little bit."

Alyssa Farrah Griffin, who previously worked as the White House's director of strategic communications under Trump, admitted to being "somehow shocked" by the verdict, even though it was the outcome she expected. "My first thought was that I feared for the safety of the judge and the jury," she said. "We live in a moment of violent political rhetoric. Knowing Donald Trump , there's something in him that thinks he's untouchable. I don't think he thought it was going to come down this way."

She added that "there is a world in which he could get away with this," assuming he's able to become president "before this is all adjudicated." She warned Americans to "buckle up" because keeping himself out of prison will be "a hell of a motivator" for Trump in his next presidential campaign.
