Fallout Renewed For Season 3 At Prime Video — Plus, Find Out When Season 2 Arrives
Fallout is so hot, it's radioactive: Prime Video has renewed the hit video game adaptation for a third season, the streamer announced Monday at Amazon's annual upfront presentation.
We also got a hint about when Season 2 might arrive: The sophomore run will debut this December, Prime Video revealed. Season 2 "will pick up in the aftermath of Season 1's epic finale and take audiences along for a journey through the wasteland of the Mojave to the post-apocalyptic city of New Vegas," per the official synopsis.
Based on the popular video game series, Fallout is set two hundred years after a nuclear apocalypse and follows survivors as they emerge from their fallout shelters and "discover an incredibly complex, gleefully weird, and highly violent universe waiting for them." Ella Purnell stars as survivor Lucy, with Walton Goggins as bounty hunter The Ghoul. Season 1 became one of Prime Video's top three most-watched titles ever and garnered 16 Emmy nominations, including a nod for best drama series.
In Season 2, Macaulay Culkin will join the cast in a recurring role as "a crazy, genius-type character." Along with Purnell and Goggins, the cast includes Aaron Moten, Kyle MacLachlan, Moisés Arias and Frances Turner.
"The holidays came a little early this year — we are thrilled to be ending the world all over again for a third season of Fallout," executive producers Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy said in a statement. "On behalf of our brilliant cast and crew, our showrunners Geneva and Graham, and our partners at Bethesda, we're grateful to our incredible collaborators at Amazon MGM Studios and to the amazing fans as we continue our adventures in the wasteland together."
