The Traitors-Esque Social Experiment Got To Get Out Ordered At Hulu

Calling all fans of Big Brother, The Traitors and The Mole: Hulu's newest project rolls 'em all into one.

The streamer announced on Thursday that it has ordered Got to Get Out, a 10-episode competition series that doubles as a social experiment.

Here's how it works: Contestants will live together in a mansion for 10 days, competing for a cash prize that increases by one dollar every second they're there, with a total of $1 million at stake (including money added to the pot via physical and mental challenges). Participants can stick together and take an equal share of the prize money at the end of their stay, or they can choose to go rogue and attempt to steal the full pot of money for themselves, by escaping the mansion via its single exit at the front gate.

"At various times, both day and night, the gate will open and a getaway car will arrive, presenting an opportunity for cast members to betray their comrades and make off with the cash," the logline explains. "However, competitors can block each other's run for the money via a red button that immediately closes the gate. Temptations, including secret escape intel, taunt players at every turn, upending strategies and threatening allegiances... What happens when a participant fails to escape and must continue to live with the people they've just betrayed? How will the exhausting and unrelenting pressure of policing each other 24/7 affect their relationships and performance? And who can they trust, if anyone?"

Glenn Hugill — who, appropriately, hosted the British version of The Mole in 2001 — created Got to Get Out, which does not yet have a premiere timetable at Hulu. Are you interested in watching?
