Match Game Revived At ABC — Find Out Who's Replacing Alec Baldwin As Host
Alec's out, Marty's in!
ABC on Tuesday revealed that it is once again reviving the classic game show Match Game. Following a five-season stint as host, Alec Baldwin will be succeeded by Only Murders in the Building star Martin Short.
A premiere date for the new season will be announced at a later time.

Based on the classic '70s hit, Match Game asks contestants to fill in the blank in a sentence, trying to match the answers of a panel of celebrity guests. Baldwin served as master of ceremonies of the most recent revival, with a rotating panel of celebs that included Niecy Nash, Jack McBrayer and Cheryl Hines. It debuted in 2016 and produced a total of 61 episodes — the last of which aired in July 2021.
No word yet on which celebs will appear on alongside Short — though it wouldn't surprise us if his Only Murders co-stars Steve Martin and Selena Gomez show up. (We also wouldn't be opposed to a one-time appearance by famed TV interviewer Jiminy Glick.)
In addition to Match Game, ABC's current crop of game shows includes Celebrity Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy! Masters — both of which return Wednesday, April 30 — as well as The $100,000 Pyramid, Celebrity Family Feud, Celebrity Jeopardy!, Press Your Luck and Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?
