Monster Season 3 Trailer: See Charlie Hunnam In Gruesome Action As Serial Killer Ed Gein

A new Monster is coming your way just in time for spooky season — and now you can watch the official trailer.

Season 3 of Ryan Murphy's true-crime anthology will premiere Friday, Oct. 3 on Netflix with all eight episodes, with Sons of Anarchy alum Charlie Hunnam starring as the infamous serial killer Ed Gein. In the streamer's new clip released Monday (watch it embedded above), we get a sneak peek at Gein's darkness and Laurie Metcalf's Augusta, the mother of this season's monster. The streamer also released a series of new photos, which you can view below.

Ed Gein confessed to killing two women in the 1950s and was accused of digging up corpses and making keepsakes out of human body parts, with his crimes serving as the inspiration for Hollywood horror movies like Psycho and The Texas Chainsaw Massacre. Along with Hunnam as Gein, the Season 3 cast includes Metcalf (The Conners) as Augusta, Tom Hollander (The White Lotus) as Psycho director Alfred Hitchcock and Olivia Williams (The Crown) as Hitchcock's wife Alma Reville.

"In the frozen fields of 1950s rural Wisconsin, a friendly, mild-mannered recluse named Eddie Gein lived quietly on a decaying farm," per the official synopsis, "hiding a house of horrors so gruesome it would redefine the American nightmare. Driven by isolation, psychosis, and an all-consuming obsession with his mother, Gein's perverse crimes birthed a new kind of monster that would haunt Hollywood for decades." Murphy serves as series co-creator along with frequent collaborator Ian Brennan, who is the primary writer on Season 3.

Each season of Monster is centered on a different real-life killer who made headlines. Season 1 starred Evan Peters as cannibalistic killer Jeffrey Dahmer, with Niecy Nash as suspicious neighbor Glenda. Season 2, dubbed Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story, debuted last September on Netflix and dramatized the saga of the Menendez brothers, who became tabloid sensations when they killed their parents in 1989, with Nicholas Alexander Chavez and Cooper Koch starring as Lyle and Erik Menendez.
