Only Murders In The Building Renewed For Season 4 As Hulu Declares, 'The Trio's Journey Is Far From Over'

Hulu isn't ready to call curtains on Only Murders in the Building just yet.

The streaming service has renewed the acclaimed comedy for Season 4 — less than 12 hours after the release of its Season 3 finale. (For our post mortem with series co-creator John Hoffman, click here.)

Without divulging concrete numbers, Hulu notes that Only Murders returned on Aug. 8 with the "most views" of any scripted Hulu original in 2023. In announcing the pickup, Hulu also declared via X (formerly known as Twitter) that "the trio's journey is far from over."

Tuesday's finale not only disclosed who killed Ben, but set the stage for Charles, Oliver and Mabel's next investigation. As is tradition, the closing scene revealed the Arconia's latest murder victim; for a spoiler-filled recap, go here.

For the uninitiated: Only Murders follows neighbors-turned-amateur sleuths Charles-Haden Savage (Steve Martin), Oliver Putnam (Martin Short) and Mabel Mora (Selena Gomez), whose obsession with true crime leads them to investigate a series of murders in their Upper West Side apartment complex.

In Season 3, our central trio went about solving the murder of movie star Ben Glenroy (played by Paul Rudd), who was poised to make his Broadway debut in Oliver's play. Additional series newcomers included three-time Oscar winner Meryl Streep as Loretta Durkin, Grey's Anatomy vet Jesse Williams as documentary filmmaker Tobert, and Emily in Paris' Ashley Park as social media influencer Kimber.

TVLine's Streaming Scorecard has been updated to reflect OMITB's renewal. Are you looking forward to Season 4? Hit the comments with your reactions to the news.
