Outer Banks To End With Season 5
The Poguelandia flag will continue to fly, but only for one more season.
Netflix has renewed Outer Banks for Season 5, which will be its last run of episodes, TVLine has confirmed. Our sister site Deadline first reported the show's ending.
The renewal comes ahead of Thursday's Season 4, Part 2 release. (Watch a trailer here.)
"We imagined a mystery that would lead to a five-season journey of adventure, treasure hunting, and friendship," series co-creators and executive producers Jonas Pate, Josh Pate and Shannon Burke wrote in a letter to fans. "It seemed impossible that we would really get to tell the whole five-season story, but here we are at the end of our fourth season, still chopping away."
They wrote that Season 4 "was our longest and hardest — but most rewarding — to produce" and that the season ends with a feature-length episode "which we think is our best, most powerful episode. We hope you feel the same way."
They said Season 5 will, hopefully, "bring our beloved Pogues home in the way we imagined and planned years ago... We hope you'll join us for one more paddle out to the surf break." (Read the note in its entirety below.)
