Sterling K. Brown And Dan Fogelman's Paradise: See First Full Trailer For Dark Hulu Drama

Welcome to Paradise.

On Thursday, Hulu released the full trailer for Dan Fogelman's forthcoming drama starring This Is Us' Sterling K. Brown. The series will have a three-episode premiere on Tuesday, Jan. 28, 2025; single episodes will follow weekly.

Brown plays the head of security for a former president. Per the official logline: "Paradise is set in a serene community inhabited by some of the world's most prominent individuals. But this tranquility explodes when a shocking murder occurs and a high-stakes investigation unfolds."

In the video above, you can see that something mysterious and dark is afoot in the drama, which flat-out tells us that the murder referenced in the logline happens to the Unite States president played by James Marsden (Westworld). The cast also includes Julianne Nicholson (Mare of Easttown) and Sarah Shahi (Sex/Life). Most of the details about the plot and characters have been kept under wraps. But In February, our sister site Deadline reported that Nicholson plays a political operative and Shahi plays a therapist whose client roster has a lot of important names on it.

The cast also includes Percy Daggs IV (The Last Days of Ptolemy Grey), Nicole Brydon Bloom (The Gilded Age) and newcomer Aliyah Mastin.

The thriller, formerly known as Paradise City, was written by Fogelman. Both he and Brown executive-produce the drama, alongside Jess Rosenthal (This Is UsOnly Murders in the Building) and John Hoberg (black-ishMy Name Is Earl).

In February, Fogelman marked the start of production with a behind-the-scenes photo posted to his Instagram account.

Brown's character is "not Randall," he teased in June. "The character is completely different, completely different milieu." He later added: "But you know Dan... He can't help but throw some heart in there. There is always going to be heart."

Brown next will be seen in Washington Black, Hulu's limited series adaptation of Esi Edugyan's novel. The nine-episode historical drama will follow 11-year-old George Washington "Wash" Black, who runs from a Barbados sugar plantation after a traumatic incident. Black becomes the protégé of Medwin Harris (played by Brown), a convivial refugee who is very popular in/deeply protective of the Black community in Halifax, Nova Scotia. As the series progresses, Wash and Medwin's relationship causes Medwin to look within himself and let down his defenses.
