Republican Presidential Debate No. 2: Which GOP Hopeful Made The Biggest Splash?

Fox Business and Univision on Wednesday night hosted the second Republican primary debate, held in Simi Valley, Calif. Did a new GOP frontrunner emerge on stage at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library?

The two-hour debate — moderated by Fox Business' Stuart Varney, Fox News' Dana Perino and Univision's Ilia Calderón — featured seven candidates: North Dakota Gov. Doug Burgum, former New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, former South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley, former Vice President Mike Pence, entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy and South Carolina Sen. Tim Scott.

Former Arkansas Gov. Asa Hutchinson, who participated in the first GOP debate on Aug. 23, did not qualify for Wednesday's rematch. Current GOP frontrunner (and former president) Donald Trump previously said that he would not participate in the debates.

The first GOP debate of the 2024 election cycle drew 13 million viewers on Fox News. Debate No. 1 moderators Bret Baier and Martha MacCallum earned an average TVLine reader grade of "C-" for their performance, while 30% of those who participated in our poll said Haley won the debate.

Based on what you saw and heard Wednesday night, which candidate do you think has the best shot of knocking Trump off the Republican ticket? Did anyone stand out to you — perhaps someone who didn't stand out during Round 1? And how did Varney, Perino and Calderón do as moderators? Vote in our polls, then drop a comment below.

The third Republican presidential primary debate is tentatively set for Wednesday, Nov. 8 in Miami (per CNN). Additional details have not been made available as of press time.
