The Big Bang Theory Heads To MTV And Nick At Nite — Get Launch Dates
The Big Bang Theory is returning to Paramount's orbit.
Five years after its record-setting, 279-episode run concluded on CBS, reruns of the hit sitcom — which, since 2011, had been exclusive to TBS — will also air on Nick at Nite and MTV.
Sheldon & Co. will first arrive on Nick at Nite on Tuesday, Dec. 24 (aka Christmas Eve). Episodes will air each night as part of a two-hour block, from 12-2 am ET.
One week later, on Wednesday, Jan. 1, MTV will ring in the new year with an all-day marathon. The series will then air in blocks, marathon-style, each weekend, where it will be paired with Friends. (Tough news for Ridiculousness, which previously had the entirety of MTV's daytime line-up to itself.)
In addition to its three basic cable homes, Big Bang continues to air in local syndication and stream on Max. Its prequel, Young Sheldon, is also syndicated on Nick at Nite and TBS, while new episodes of Georgie & Mandy's First Marriage air in Big Bang and Sheldon's former Thursdays-at-8 time slot on CBS.
