The Jinx Returns: HBO's Robert Durst Docuseries Gets Part Two Continuation

HBO is following up on one of its biggest cliffhangers ever.

The premium cabler's headline-making docuseries The Jinx: The Life and Deaths of Robert Durst will get a six-episode continuation titled The Jinx — Part Two, it was announced Thursday.

Directed by Andrew Jarecki, who will also shepherd the second season, The Jinx focused on real estate heir Robert Durst, who was a key suspect in the murder of his friend Susan Berman, as well as the killing of his first wife and the death and dismemberment of one of his neighbors. In the stunning final moments of The Jinx's first season — which chronicled the suspicions that Durst had been involved in those murders — Durst went to the bathroom after an interview with the crew and, seemingly unaware that his microphone was still on, had a conversation with himself that ended with, "What the hell did I do? Killed them all, of course."

"At the end of the original series, viewers around the world were stunned to hear Robert Durst utter the words, 'Killed them all, of course,'" HBO's logline for The Jinx — Part Two reads. "Just hours earlier, based on evidence uncovered by the filmmakers, Durst had been arrested in a hotel lobby in New Orleans. The filmmakers continued their investigation for the next eight years, uncovering hidden material, Durst's prison calls and interviews with people who had never before come forward."

Durst was convicted of killing Berman in September 2021. He died in January 2022, at the age of 78, while serving a life sentence at the California Health Care Facility in Stockton, Calif.

The Jinx — Part Two is currently in production and will air sometime in 2024. Will you be watching the new episodes?
