The Neighborhood Spinoff Crutch Reveals Trailer, Release Date And Crossover Plans — Will You Watch?
Crutch, a spinoff of CBS' The Neighborhood starring Tracy Morgan, will premiere Monday, Nov. 3, TVLine has learned. All eight episodes of the Paramount+ comedy will be available to stream on release day.
Morgan previously guest-starred on The Neighborhood as Calvin's brother Curtis. He returns to the franchise as Calvin's cousin, Frank Crutchfield — aka Crutch. Described by Paramount+ as "a brash but beloved Harlem shop owner," Crutch finds his world turned upside down when his adult kids return home.
Joining Morgan on the spinoff are Jermaine Fowler (Superior Donuts) as Crutch's highbrow son Jake, an Ivy League-educated lawyer who chooses to provide low-cost legal aid over a high-paying position at a prestigious law firm; Adrianna Mitchell (Snowfall) as Crutch's free-spirited daughter Jamilah, who moves back home with her two kids; and Tony Award winner Kecia Lewis as Crutch's meddling sister-in-law, Antoinette, who has inserted herself as the de facto matriarch of the Crutchfield clan.
Adrian Martinez (Stumptown), Braxton Paul (Sesame Street) and Finn Maloney (Suncoast) also co-star; The Neighborhood's Cedric the Entertainer, Tichina Arnold and Max Greenfield all guest-star.

In addition to the Crutch premiere, Morgan will appear in a special crossover episode of The Neighborhood, also airing Nov. 3 (CBS, 8/7c). In it, "Calvin reaches out to his cousin Crutch to get Malcolm a sweet deal on a new floor," per the official logline. "However, Crutch insists on coming to L.A. to oversee the work himself, where he drives Tina crazy — and reveals an emotional vulnerability."
Crutch was one of two Neighborhood spinoffs in development, with the other — centered on Calvin and Tina's sons Malcolm and Marty — ultimately not moving forward.

Morgan, meanwhile, is staying especially busy: In addition to his role on Crutch, he's set to headline the upcoming NBC sitcom The Fall and Rise of Reggie Dinkins, executive produced by Tina Fey. If both Crutch and Reggie Dinkins are renewed, Morgan is expected to continue starring on both shows.
