TVLine Items: Punisher's Disney+ Special, Bear Star's Barney Movie And More

Following his appearance in the first season of the Daredevil: Born Again revival-of-sorts (premiering Tuesday, March 4), Jon Bernthal's Frank Castle aka The Punisher will headline a Marvel Studios' Special Presentation à la Werewolf by Night and The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special.

"It's like a shotgun blast of a story," Marvel Television chief Brad Winderbaum told EW.com, "but also has all the pathos and emotion that you want out of a Frank Castle story."

Bernthal is penning the Disney+ standalone special's script with director Reinaldo Marcus Green (whom he worked with on HBO's We Own This City).
