Amazon Tells The Summer I Turned Pretty Fans To Stop Bullying Cast Members
The Summer I Turned Pretty fandom is getting ugly.
Amazon on Tuesday reminded fans to "keep the conversation kind this summer" ahead of Episode 8 of the Jenny Han adaptation, which began streaming on Prime Video Wednesday morning.
"The show isn't real but the people playing the characters are," the official The Summer I Turned Pretty account wrote on X, along with a video graphic that read: "The Summer We Started Acting Normal Online."
The series previously warned fans about their "zero tolerance policy for bullying and hate speech" ahead of the Season 3 premiere in July. (The original message was then reposted on Tuesday on TSITP social accounts, along with the caption: "In case you forgot.")

The warnings come after several cast members have been the target of online bullying, with Variety reporting that Gavin Casalegno, who plays Jeremiah Fisher, has even received death threats. In Season 3, Jeremiah and his brother Conrad (played by Christopher Briney) are both in love with their longtime friend Belly (Lola Tung). After a shocking engagement between Jeremiah and Belly, the love triangle has gotten even more dramatic as the two brothers fight over their confused love interest.
But the bullying doesn't only stem from #TeamConrad and #TeamJeremiah factions of fans; Casalegno has also been targeted online for his alleged political beliefs demonstrated by his supposed engagement with conservative social media posts.
The Summer I Turned Pretty concludes with its series finale on Wednesday, Sept. 17.
