The Summer I Turned Pretty Sets Finale Movie At Prime Video

The sun isn't setting yet on The Summer I Turned Pretty.

The YA adaptation will continue its story with a Prime Video movie written by author Jenny Han and Sarah Kucserka, the streamer announced on Wednesday. (Han, who served as the series' showrunner and executive producer, will also direct.) Plot details have yet to be shared, but the film will build upon the events of the TV series, which dropped its series finale early Wednesday morning. (Read our full recap here.)

"There is another big milestone left in Belly's journey, and I thought only a movie could give it its proper due," Han said in a statement. "I'm so grateful to Prime Video for continuing to support my vision for this story and for making it possible to share this final chapter with the fans."

"The Summer I Turned Pretty has struck a chord with audiences everywhere, creating moments of joy, nostalgia, and connection that have made it a global sensation," added Courtenay Valenti, head of film, streaming and theatrical at Amazon MGM Studios, and Vernon Sanders, Global Head of Television, at Prime Video and Amazon MGM Studios. "We're proud of the series' extraordinary success and couldn't be more excited to partner again with Jenny Han to bring fans an unforgettable next chapter."

The Summer I Turned Pretty is a multigenerational drama centered around a love triangle involving Belly (played by Lola Tung), and brothers Conrad (Christopher Briney) and Jeremiah (Gavin Casalegno). In the third and final season, Belly was set to marry Jeremiah, effectively bringing the love triangle chaos to an end. She decided, however, to break things off and went to Paris to start a new life. The finale episode sees Conrad arrive in France hoping to rekindle their former romance.
