The View: Whoopi Goldberg, Ana Navarro Clash Over Political 'Panic' Ahead Of Trump's Second Term — Watch
Whoopi Goldberg and Ana Navarro got into a heated argument on The View that had everyone quivering in their boots.
As Americans ready to transition from Joe Biden's presidency into Donald Trump's in January, the two co-hosts discussed the unanimous "panic" that many are feeling. (Watch the exchange in the video embedded above.) Goldberg took the high ground trying to soothe people's worries saying, "All we have to do from now until Jan. 21 is be with our families, be with our kids, do our jobs, make sure our checks don't bounce, [and] make sure that we are taking care of ourselves and our families."
Navarro quickly disagreed and made it clear that she's not in favor of Goldberg's outlook on the situation.
"I told you last week I disagree with you when you say that, because we have the luxury of saying that because we're legal, we're successful," argued Navarro. "If you're an illegal immigrant in this country, you're not going to be not in a panic. If you're a woman working for the Department of Defense, you have a right to be in a panic."
Tensions rose as Goldberg fired back despite the show's theme song playing; she believed Navarro was telling people to "stay fraught." Navarro made a quick point of explaining that people's concerns over Trump's presidency shouldn't be dismissed and that they should prepare themselves.
Before being told to cut the segment short by producers, Goldberg ended with, "We don't know what we're panicking for. They're throwing 50,000 things at you to make you [panic]. I'm saying don't buy into that. Do what you have to do, take care of your family. And when we know what is happening, when we know what we're fighting, we'll get out and fight. That's what I'm saying."
