Adam Levine Teases Blake Shelton's Return To The Voice's Coaching Panel

Tuesday's Season 27 finale of The Voice didn't just reveal a new winner (read the recap here) and reunite OG coaches Adam Levine, who was back in his red swivel chair after five years, and Blake Shelton, who was on hand to perform his new single. The episode also playfully laid the groundwork for the sparring partners to go at it again in a future season.

In a pre-taped segment, the Maroon 5 frontman jokingly delighted in the fact that he had not only been given the country superstar's seat but his dressing room, too. "They took all the sawdust off the floor... dead raccoons." Though Levine's affection for Shelton is well-known, he couldn't resist refusing to say that he missed his pal. But "I do think that I can tell you that not being with you has made me better at doing my job, because you don't constant needle. You're a needler," cracked Levine, who later admitted to Carson Daly, "I do love him."

The host then asked, "You think you'll ever come back to the show? What about you and Blake on this show again? Will that ever happen?"

As the audience cheered, Levine replied, "Yeah. I think we should do it." In jest, he even laid out a plan to get his frenemy to sign on the dotted line. "I'm gonna take him out and get him drunk." Hey, it would work on us.
