The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon Renewed For Season 3... With A Twist — Plus, Watch The Season 2 Trailer
The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon will be saying adieu to France in Season 3. Not only was the post-apocalyptic AMC drama's renewal announced during its San Diego Comic-Con panel on Friday afternoon, but it was also revealed that Season 3 will be set in Spain. In fact, production is set to get underway next month in Madrid, with additional location shooting planned in the Galicia, Aragon, Catalonia and Valencia regions.
In the series' second season, which premieres Sunday, Sept. 29, at 9/8c, franchise OGs Norman Reedus' and Melissa McBride's Daryl and Carol "confront old demons," per the network, as she moves heaven and earth to find him, and he grapples with his decision to stick around France — and, more significantly, to remain with his de-facto family, Isabelle (Clémence Poésy) and Laurent (Louis Puech Scigliuzzi). At the same time, the merciless Genet (Anne Charrier) and her Pouvoir du Vivant (Power of the Living) movement gain momentum, setting up an epic clash between her soldiers and the pacifistic Union of Hope.
Season 2, which is subtitled The Book of Carol, marks McBride's first go-round as a regular on the Walking Dead offshoot. She made a memorable guest appearance in the Season 1 finale (recapped here), setting the stage for her iconic character's search for her bestie. Daryl Dixon is the fifth spinoff in the long-running AMC franchise based on Robert Kirkman's series of graphic novels.
