Usher To Perform Super Bowl 58 Halftime Show In February
Usher is set to perform the halftime show at Super Bowl 58, which kicks off on Feb. 11, 2024, from Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, Nev., and airs on CBS.
The NFL announced the news on Sunday, calling Usher a "generation defining" artist.
"It's an honor of a lifetime to finally check a Super Bowl performance off my bucket list," Usher said in a statement. "I can't wait to bring the world a show unlike anything else they've seen from me before. Thank you to the fans and everyone who made this opportunity happen. I'll see you real soon."
The R&B artist has won eight Grammy awards throughout his career and sold more than 80 million records worldwide. He also made a splash on TV as a judge on NBC's The Voice in Seasons 4 and 6.
Earlier this year, Rihanna performed her own memorable Super Bowl 57 halftime performance. The pop icon not only played a medley of popular hits including "Rude Boy," "Work," and "Umbrella," but also announced her second pregnancy. Her performance earned an average TVLine reader grade of "C+."
Other recent Super Bowl halftime show performers include Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Eminem, Mary J.
