Save The Dates: Julie Plec's We Were Liars Premiere, The Old Guard 2 On Netflix And More

Make way for a new set of liars this summer.

Prime Video's mystery thriller We Were Liars, from co-showrunners Julie Plec (The Vampire Diaries universe) and Carina Adly MacKenzie (Roswell, New Mexico), will premiere with all eight episodes Wednesday, June 18.

Based on E. Lockhart's novel of the same name, the series "follows Cadence Sinclair Eastman (played by Emily Alyn Lind from Max's Gossip Girl) and her tight-knit inner circle, nicknamed the Liars, during their summer escapades on her grandfather's New England private island," reads the official synopsis. "The Sinclairs are American royalty—known for their good looks, old money, and enviable bond—but after a mysterious accident changes Cadence's life forever, everyone, including her beloved Liars, seems to have something to hide."

The cast also includes Candice King (The Vampire Diaries), Mamie Gummer (The Good Wife), Caitlin FitzGerald (Masters of Sex, Sweetbitter), Rahul Kohli (Fall of the House of Usher, iZombie), David Morse (Outsiders), Shubham Maheshwari, Esther MacGregor (High School) and Joseph Zada.
