Welcome To Flatch Cancelled At Fox

This is most unwelcome news: Fox has cancelled Welcome to Flatch after two seasons, TVLine has learned.

"While audience response was not as strong as we had hoped, we were thrilled with the creativity of the enormously talented Jenny Bicks and Paul Feig, as well as the outstanding, dedicated cast and crew they assembled," Fox said in a statement released on Friday. "We look forward to collaborating with them again in the future and are thankful for all of our partners at Lionsgate, Jenny's Perkins Street Productions, Paul's Feigco Entertainment, BBC Studios' Angie Stephenson, and Charlie Cooper and Daisy May Cooper."

Adapted from the BBC's BAFTA-winning BBC mockumentary This Country, Fox's take — which hailed from writer Jenny Bicks (Sex and the City) and director Paul Feig (A Simple Favor) — sent a documentary crew to a (fictional) small town in Ohio to study young adults and their current concerns. The crew would ultimately hone in on the daily lives of cousins Kelly and Lloyd "Shrub" Mallet (played by (played by Chelsea Holmes and Sam Straley) and their idiosyncratic surroundings.

Mom fave Jaime Pressly joined the ensemble in Season 2 as Barb Flatch, a realtor who returns to her hometown after a bad divorce. Seann William Scott (Lethal Weapon), Aya Cash (You're the Worst), Justin Linville, Taylor Ortega and Krystal Smith also starred.

Fox previously handed renewals to 9-1-1: Lone Star (for Season 5), Accused (for Season 2), Alert: Missing Persons Unit (for Season 2), Animal Control (for Season 2), Bob's Burgers (for Seasons 14 and 15), The Cleaning Lady (for Season 3), Family Guy (for Seasons 22 and 23), The Great North (for Season 4) and The Simpsons (for Seasons 35 and 36).

Not returning to Fox for the 2023-24 broadcast season are 9-1-1 (which is moving to ABC for Season 7), Call Me Kat (cancelled after Season 3), Fantasy Island (cancelled after Season 2), Monarch (cancelled after Season 1) and The Resident (cancelled after Season 6).
