FBI's Missy Peregrym And Zeeko Zaki Detail 'Intense' And 'Action-Packed' Season 8 — Watch
Brace yourselves, FBI fans. When CBS' high-octane thrill ride returns for Season 8, it's slamming on the gas starting with its first few seconds.
"We somehow have figured out a way to bring you a more intense and more action-packed season than we have before," Zeeko Zaki tells TVLine in the video above. "There is life, there is death, there is all of the things that make this show exciting."
"And we do have more personal stories," adds Missy Peregrym. "There's still a lot more to learn and experience. It's a very good season so far. We think it's really strong."
The police procedural returns Monday, Oct. 13 at 9/8c on the Eye network, picking up just three days after Special Agent in Charge Isobel Castille collapsed following her team's harrowing battle with Forefront and the explosion that nearly took her out in the Season 7 finale. (Read our recap here.) And at the top of this new run, things are still very much up in the air for the FBI and its JOC.
"We still don't know if [Isobel's] going to make it," says Peregrym, when asked to detail the start of Season 8. "We're all also having to work and accomplish the task at hand, while also being really nervous that she might not make it. And also Jubal is stepping in for her position and he's having to go through it, trying to make these really tough calls that he's not used to doing, which adds a great level of intensity."
Also in our interview above, the two actors discuss whether the Forefront threat has really been squashed. Plus, Peregrym and Zaki tease what's to come later this season, including a professional shake-up in Maggie's life and an "exciting" episode that will take the team off the streets and place them high in the sky.
"We do one where we find ourselves on an airplane, which is very exciting because we're usually on the ground here in New York," he says. "We had the train episode last year and now the airplane, hopefully next, like a submarine or something like that. We'll just keep going until we get through them all!"
