Good Trouble: Callie And Jamie Return... To Celebrate A Special Milestone? — 2024 FIRST LOOK (Exclusive)

TVLine's 2024 First Look series is kicking off with an exclusive photo of our favorite newly engaged couple from one of the first shows returning in the new year with fresh episodes.

Good Trouble will welcome back Callie (played by Maia Mitchell) and Jamie (Beau Mirchoff) during the second half of its fifth season, premiering Tuesday, Jan. 2 at 10/9c on Freeform. But you don't have to wait until after the New Year's Eve ball drops to catch a glimpse of the happy pair: As seen in the above first look, Callie and Jamie are all smiles as they enjoy a dimly-lit dinner. As for whom they're dining with — perhaps their friends and/or family to mark their engagement? — you'll have to tune in to find out.

"Any time is a good time to bring Callie and Jamie back. As always, they will bring romance, comedy and plenty of drama back with them. And lots of feel-good fun," showrunner Joanna Johnson tells TVLine.

In case you need a refresher: When Jamie popped the question, the scene cut away from Callie's answer. During a Thanksgiving celebration episode, we discovered that the twosome was, indeed, engaged, but Callie wanted to keep their engagement a secret from her sister Mariana, her moms and her friends because she feared if it was real, then it could be ripped away. And while trying to hide her ring from her loved ones, she actually lost it, then realized her young foster sis made it into a crown for her Barbie. After some sage advice from her moms, including a very high Lena, Callie called Jamie her fiancé in front of the entire dinner table, causing everyone to erupt into excited cheers.
