Outlander Final Season Trailer: Whose Appearance Shakes Claire To Her Core? — Plus, Find Out When The Starz Drama Is Back

There's no way the person who shows up at the end of Outlander's final season trailer is who I think it is... right?

Judge for yourself by watching the video above. Someone approaches Claire and Jamie at the end of the video, which is a just-released teaser for the Starz drama's final season. From the way the footage is shot, we can't see the man, but Claire certainly can — and from the look on Caitríona Balfe's face, his presence is a SHOCK.

"Mrs. Fraser?" the man asks, still off-camera. Claire looks like she can't "Is it possible?" Claire whispers.

Sassenachs: I know this sounds insane, but my thoughts immediately flew to former Outlander cast member Tobias Menzies showing his face in the Starz drama's swan song. Yes, Menzies' Frank is both simultaneously a) dead and b) not to be born for several hundred years. Yes, Jonathan Wolverton "Black Jack" Randall, also played by Menzies, has long since fertilized Culloden Moor by this point in the story. And yes, we've never had any indication that Frank has the Diana Gabaldon-given gift of time travel.

Still... equally weird things have happened over the series' run. (Hellooo, Monseiur Raymond.) What do you think?

Outlander Season 8 will premiere in early 2026. Per the official synopsis: "As Season Eight begins, Jamie and Claire soon find the war has followed them home to Fraser's Ridge, now a thriving settlement that has grown and flourished in their absence. With new arrivals and changes made during their years away, the Frasers are confronted with the question of what they are willing to sacrifice for the place they call home and, more importantly, what they would sacrifice to stay together. While the Frasers keep a united front against outside intruders, family secrets finally coming to light threaten to tear them apart from the inside. Although they've left the war for America's freedom behind, their fight for Fraser's Ridge has only just begun."

The teaser above also has Jamie (played by Sam Heughan) reminiscing about his life with Claire. "I remember when I saw you for the first time," he says as we're treated to scenes from their romance, including his dislocated shoulder, her red dress in Versailles and their post-shipwreck reunion. "I remember every moment, every second. I'll never forget."

Also in the footage, we see: Bree running to Roger, looking relieved; Ian and Rachel crying; Lord John realizing he's being held at gunpoint; a building burning; Jamie hugging Marsali and Claire tending bees.

A lot for us to parse, Outlanders! Press PLAY on the video above to watch the teaser in full, then hit the comments so we can talk about it!
