Suits LA Video: Gabriel Macht's Harvey Specter Meets Ted Black In Contentious First Introduction

It seems Harvey Specter and Ted Black weren't always friendly.

In a promo for next Sunday's Suits LA, Gabriel Macht reprises his role as the charming lawyer from the original USA Network drama, and he and Stephen Amell's character are off to a contentious start.

First, Harvey corrects Ted's drink order, then he asks, "Would you like to play it with me, or would you like to play it against me?" (Perhaps he's referring to the prosecutors' league baseball team that creator Aaron Korsh told TVLine both men were a part of during their days in New York.)

"Why you think I couldn't take you?" Ted counters.

Macht's three-episode arc will kick off Sunday, March 16 (at 9/8c on NBC) in the flashback storyline, when "the danger of going against a mob boss sends Ted to an old friend," per the official synopsis. 

"It's just like in the middle of an episode, you're going to have a flashback scene, and you're like, 'Oh, my God, there's Harvey!'" Korsh previewed. "We tell the story of what their relationship was in the past in the first couple of episodes he's in, and then in the third episode, he shows up in the present day, and they take care of some unfinished business."

As for what made Harvey the right character to bring in as Suits LA's first original Suits alum, Korsh told TVLine that "he was the clear and obvious choice."

"Ted was a prosecutor in New York at the time that Harvey was working in New York, so they, clearly, would've known each other," Korsh explained. "Now, they didn't work in the same office. Ted was a U.S. Attorney, but Harvey was in the District Attorney's office. So what I came up with was they both played in this prosecutors' league baseball team. So it just made sense that they would know each other. To put other people in would be just much harder to figure out."

That said, it was recently announced that Rick Hoffman will also reprise his Suits role as the neurotic Louis Litt. His episode and Macht's arc are not expected to overlap.
