The Witcher Is 'Reborn' As Liam Hemsworth In Season 4 Trailer: 'You Are Becoming Something New'

"Something is shifting on this continent," Yennefer warns in the just-released trailer for Season 4 of Netflix's The Witcher, which drops all eight episodes on Thursday, Oct. 30. But as chilling as her warning is, it's actually an understatement — there are many things shifting on this continent.

For starters, Geralt of Rivia is now being played by Liam Hemsworth. We've had some time to digest this reality (original portrayer Henry Cavill announced in Oct. 2022 that he'd be passing the torch to Hemsworth after three seasons), but that doesn't change the fact that we're now tossing our collective coin to a completely different face.

Unless it's all a bit of clever editing, the trailer implies that The Witcher will address the major casting change, at least to a degree, with talk of Geralt being "in a state of flux" and "becoming something new."

The trailer also finds Geralt and Yennefer raising an army to rescue Ciri and defeat Vilgefortz once and for all. (Well, maybe not once and for all. There's still a fifth and final season on the horizon, so we can't expect a happy ending just yet.)

The official Season 4 logline expands on the challenges facing Geralt & Co in Season 4: "After the Continent-altering events of Season 3," it reads, "Geralt, Yennefer, and Ciri find themselves separated by a raging war and countless enemies. As their paths diverge, and their goals sharpen, they stumble on unexpected allies eager to join their journeys. And if they can accept these found families, they just might have a chance at reuniting for good."
