Aubrey Plaza Joins SNL's Parody Of Netflix's The Hunting Wives — Watch
Season 2 of The Hunting Wives looks pretty steamy... at least according to Saturday Night Live's parody.
This week's SNL took aim at the Netflix hit — described as "the straight but lesbian horny Republican murder drama" — with a fake trailer for Season 2, with host Amy Poehler leading a cast of naughty Texas housewives who keep finding themselves in erotic situations. "Thighs will be squeezed," the narrator told us, and "guns will be drawn."
As Poehler's Margo gave Chloe Fineman's Sophie a hands-on lesson in how to make margaritas, the narrator read off quotes from critics such as, "It's like Call Me by Your Name for women who shop at Bass Pro Shop" and "It's like if The L Word took place in Yellowstone. This show has healed our nation."
But the Season 2 trailer also introduced a new character, played by Poehler's Parks and Recreation co-star Aubrey Plaza. She just moved here from California, and the ladies welcomed her with open arms — until they found out she's actually gay. They pulled guns on her in horror: "This is Texas!"
