Big Brother Recap: Which 'Zombie' Had His Game Brought Back To Life?
In the end, I suppose Big Brother's Scary Week did live up to its name. Not because the show pulled off any particularly impressive frights, spooked any of the houseguests, or... embraced the horror theme much at all, really!
But the game does get bone-chillingly boring when it grinds to a halt for seven full days.
Thursday's live episode finally revealed to us whether Jared or Cameron would be permanently resurrecting his game after spending one week as a BB zombie. But after Cameron successfully beat Jared in the Resurrection Rumble competition that was left on a cliffhanger during Sunday's episode, CBS had another 30 minutes to fill before we could find out Cameron and Jared's ultimate fates.
In that time, quite a few new deals were made: Cameron, wanting to ensure his own safety upon possibly returning, planted the seeds for a Brigade-esque alliance that includes himself, Matt and Jag, with Blue as another number in their favor when they need her. Meanwhile, Cory and America set up their own "insurance" alliance with Felicia and Mecole, wanting to protect themselves in case either of those ladies pulls out a Head of Household win. Felicia and Mecole's interest in a deal with #Americory seemed legit, but Matt could sense that Cory was putting out feelers, and that didn't sit well with him, Jag or Blue.
Cameron ultimately decided to play in the do-or-die challenge, meaning he'd stay in the house if he won, or Jared would stay if Cameron lost. The task? Use a pulley system to navigate a golden ball up a gigantic Franken-Cameron, deposit the ball in a hole on the side of the board, and hit the buzzer. Cameron had three minutes to do so — and it looked a little dicey there at first! Cameron got close with his first ball, but it dropped into a chasm just as he was nearing the finish line. His second attempt was much quicker and more successful, though, and he managed to sink the ball and buzz in with a full minute to spare.
Jared then got a proper post-game interview with Julie Chen Moonves, and it took quite an emotional turn when Julie asked how Cirie might fare without her son in the game. Jared wept quite a bit, hoping aloud that his mom will be OK moving forward... perhaps not realizing she's a Survivor strategy legend? Or that she won The Traitors? She'll, uh, probably be just fine. (And her fiery goodbye message to Jared, in which she promised to get Cory evicted if it's the last thing she does, indicated as much.)
And now it's back to business as usual in the Big Brother house, with a fun bonus for both Cory and Cameron: Given the zombie twist's impact on the past week, everyone will play in the next Head of Household competition. Who would you like to see win it? And how do you feel about Cameron returning to the game? Tell us below!
