Destination X Winner Revealed! Grade Season 1 And The Finale

Destination X delivered a dramatic Season 1 finale on Tuesday — but did the best contestant win? Let's recap.

At the top of the hour, we meet our final three competitors — Rick, Biggy and Peter — for the last time before the field gets narrowed down to two in a high-stakes game of trivia. For Biggy, the challenge brings about the stinging bite of betrayal: He finally learns about Peter and Rick's secret alliance, and the pair use their correct answers to conspire against Biggy in hopes of advancing to the final stage of competition together.

Despite Biggy's surprise at the backstabbing from his pal Rick, the man stays in the game until the last possible second. Rick finishes on top, but Biggy and Peter finish out the challenge in a tie. It all comes down to one last tie-breaking question to determine who moves on in the competition: How many islands is Venice made up of? Peter guesses 27, while Biggy guesses 210. The correct answer? 118, meaning Peter inches ahead of Biggy by just one island. (One dadgum island, as Biggy puts it!)

Peter and Rick advance in hopes of winning the cash prize, as each must solve a string of rather random geographic riddles. Finally, both men receive three clues to Jeffrey's final Destination X: a $100 bill, an hourglass and a photo of Queen Elizabeth. Peter thinks the money and royalty point toward the Tower of London, home to the Crown Jewels. Rick, on the other hand, connects the mighty Benjamin Franklin with telling time, and guesses Big Ben.

In the end, it's Rick who is presented with a briefcase full of $250,000 within the walls of the iconic towering clock, and becomes the Season 1 winner of Destination X.
