Found Unlocks A Puzzling New Mystery: Who Is Annie, And What The Heck Happened To Her?
Found's Gabi Mosely spent more than a year in Sir's captivity. Up until Day 322, the then-teenager believed she was his first victim. However, a flashback in Tuesday's episode revealed the disturbing truth: She was just his latest.
In the scene at the top of the hour, Gabi found a secret note that read, "Day 261. My name is Annie, and I'm going to live. If you're reading this, then Sir took you, too. Don't give up."
Teen Gabi later questioned Sir about Annie in another flashback scene, with Sir noting that Annie was "rebellious" and someone who "refused to adapt." When Gabi asked what happened to her, Sir threatened that "the same thing that will happen to you should you continue this rebellion. It will have to begin again with someone new, and just like Annie, you will never be found."
So, who is Annie? And what ever happened to her? Showrunner Nkechi Okoro Carroll tells TVLine that Annie will be an "ongoing conundrum for Gabi and Sir across the first season, and a version of answers will start to be pieced together."
The Found EP also teased that it "may not be what the audience think," and it "certainly may not be what Gabi thinks — or even Sir — but we have not seen the last of the Annie mystery."
At the end of the hour, Gabi (who was upset over the outcome of a case involving a child trafficking ring) looked through a box of Annie's belongings that she had kept, including the note. Although Annie remains an enigma, it's clear that Gabi will not give up on searching for her — a point driven home by the secret file on Gabi's computer bearing her name and hidden inside a tax folder.
