Only Murders' Billionaires Reveal Their True Intentions In Episode 7 — What's Next For The Arconia?
With just two episodes to go before Only Murders in the Building's Oct. 28 finale, the billionaires' true intentions finally come into focus.
Following a trip to Bash Steed's villainous lair, our trio returns home, where they're confronted by Renée Zellweger's Camila White. As it turns out, she's been quietly buying up apartments — explaining all that chatter about residents moving out and Oliver receiving a bid on his two-bedroom abode — with plans to turn the Arconia into New York City's first luxury casino: The Camila Club. How timely!
Why exactly Camila has set her sights on the Arconia remains unclear, but she's competing with Christoph Waltz's Bash and Logan Lerman's Jay Pflug, who are all vying to break ground on the city's first legal gambling destination.
Heading into Season 5's final stretch, Charles, Oliver and Mabel now find themselves caught between saving their home and catching a killer — two storylines that co-creator John Hoffman says are of equal importance.
"They both become equally important because they both become tied to what they begin to understand could possibly be," Hoffman says. "So they have to try and carry on that [dual] mission, both on a personal level, for themselves and for everyone around them, but also for Lester — to sort of find some redemption.
"The stakes of the season become, 'Are we giving up our home?' — [while also] asking ourselves what's going on in the larger landscape out there," the EP explains. "'What are we giving up? Do we fight, and do we hold on to it?'"
Suffice it to say, the trio's latest discovery sends their investigation in a whole new direction. So, tell us: Did Camila's plan for the Arconia catch you off guard? Let us know what you thought of Episode 7 in the comments below.
