Netflix Releases New Trailer For Stirring WWII Epic All The Light We Cannot See

Netflix is sending us to the battlefields of World War II with its new miniseries All the Light We Cannot See — but it's offering a glimmer of hope as well.

The streaming giant has released a new trailer for the series, premiering Thursday, Nov. 2 (which you watch above), with Mark Ruffalo starring as Daniel LeBlanc, who flees Nazi-occupied Paris with his blind daughter Marie-Laure in tow. They hide out with an eccentric uncle played by Hugh Laurie, and Marie-Laure (Aria Mia Loberti) grows up to become an underground radio broadcaster, using her words to fight the incoming Nazi empire. Her words capture the attention of German teenager Werner (Dark's Louis Hofmann), who shares Marie-Laure's hope for a brighter future.

Based on the the Pulitzer Prize-winning bestseller by Anthony Doerr, the four-part series is directed by Shawn Levy (Stranger Things) and written by Steven Knight (See). Both Levy and Knight serve as executive producers as well. The cast also includes Lars Eidinger and Marion Bailey.
