Hysteria! Trailer: Parenting Is Hell For Julie Bowen In Peacock's Satanic Panic-Themed Thriller
Julie Bowen is going back to the '80s to play another suburban mom in Peacock's Hysteria!... but she's got a new supernatural foe this time.
The streamer on Thursday released a full trailer for its upcoming pop-horror series, which stars Bowen (Modern Family) as the mother of a teenage boy who tries to use a recent missing-persons case to his advantage.
After the mysterious disappearance of a suburban town's local varsity quarterback, a "struggling high school heavy metal band of outcasts realize they can capitalize on the town's sudden interest in the occult by building a reputation as a Satanic metal band," according to the official description. That is, "until a bizarre series of murders, kidnappings, and reported 'supernatural activity' triggers a leather-studded witch hunt that leads directly back to them."
Along with Bowen, Hysteria!'s cast includes Anna Camp (The Good Wife), Emjay Anthony (Physical), Chiara Aurelia (Cruel Summer), Kezii Curtis (Insecure) and Nikki Hahn (American Housewife), with "special guest star" Bruce Campbell (Ash vs. Evil Dead). Matthew Scott Kaine (Stitchers) and David A. Goodman (The Orville) serve as writers and executive producers.
Peacock previously announced that Hysteria! will premiere Friday, Oct. 18, with all eight episodes. The series premiere also airs that day on USA Network and Syfy, and USA Network will air subsequent episodes weekly after that.
