9-1-1: Nashville's Kimberly Williams-Paisley Celebrates Cammie's Big Step Forward, Reacts To Kyle Richards' 'Shocking' Guest Role

Things are looking up for Cammie on "9-1-1: Nashville." After helping the authorities stop a money hungry murderer (played by Kyle Richards, which we'll get to later), Cammie finally scored herself a date with Agent Nick Turner (guest star Coby Bell).

"I'm so happy that Cammie is getting some romance in her life, and also that she's kind of met her match in Agent Turner," Kimberly Williams-Paisley tells TVLine. "I'm glad that they've been able to do some good together and find some common ground. They've both dealt with loss in their lives, and that they're healing together is really sweet, I think."

Cammie and Nick first met during the hacker crisis earlier this season, but the show waited a beat before taking things in a romantic direction.

"I really appreciated that," Williams-Paisley says of their slower progression of their relationship. "And we're still taking it slow. They went on that date, but we don't see them on the date. And Cammie's still wearing her wedding ring, so she's clearly not completely ready to jump into a relationship with somebody else. I appreciate that the writers are taking their time with it."

Regardless of how quickly things progress between Cammie and Nick, Williams-Paisley says she's grateful that the dark cloud over her character's head is beginning to dissipate.

"I really love that they gave attention to the cloud," Williams-Paisley says. "We got to see what's causing her pain and how she lives with something that she doesn't show day to day. Once she could let some of that out in the grief group, we began to see this lighter side to her. You can see how much she enjoys solving these crimes, and that she's starting to enjoy her life more."

Kimberly Williams-Paisley says bravo to Kyle Richards

OK, now we're going to talk about Kyle Richards. Though she has acted in multiple projects, including appearing opposite Jamie Lee Curtis in the "Halloween" franchise, fans of "The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills" were likely surprised to see the reality star step into this killer role.

Richards played Aubrey, the sister of a woman who was recently murdered. Cammie was the dispatcher of that call, and she felt guilty about sending the police to the wrong address, even if it was the one she was given over the phone. Long story short, Aubrey was the one who killed her sister over some inheritance money, and she would have also killed her niece if Cammie (and the Nashville Fire and Police Departments) hadn't intervened.

Kimberly Williams-Paisley tells TVLine that it was "shocking" to witness Richards' transformation, adding that "she was so fun, just up for anything, really nice and easygoing."

"She also lives around here — I ran into her the other day in a candy shop," Williams-Paisley adds with a laugh. "So I guess we're neighbors now in real life!"

Were you impressed with Richards' dark turn on this week's "9-1-1: Nashville"? Are you glad to see Cammie finding some happiness? Which other developments are on your mind as we wait for new episodes to return on Thursday, April 30 (ABC, 9/8c)? Drop all of your thoughts in a comment below.
