Crystal Lake Trailer: Linda Cardellini Seeks Bloody Vengeance In Friday The 13th Prequel Series — Watch
Pamela Voorhees is about to have some seriously bad days.
The full trailer for the "Friday the 13th" prequel series "Crystal Lake" dropped Sunday, and it seems that Pamela (Linda Cardellini) can already hear that unsettling "ki ki ki, ma ma ma" taunt ringing through the woods. Not only does the clip tease young Jason's very tragic death, but Pamela tells policeman Levon Brooks: "I don't want to heal." (That, we know!) As the bodies start to pile up, some suspect man-eating bears, but other residents in town just might know the truth...
Reads the official synopsis: "The series follows single mother Pam Voorhees who has been unable to shake her grief after her young, sickly son Jason tragically drowned in the town lake almost a year before. When two strangers arrive at Pam's door digging into her past, a disturbing chain of events are set into motion, leaving the townspeople of Crystal Lake wondering: Just who is Pam Voorhees?"
As previously reported, the eight-episode "Crystal Lake" will premiere Thursday, October 15 on Peacock, with Brad Caleb Kane ("IT: Welcome to Derry") on board as creator, writer, showrunner, and executive producer.
Who else is starring in Crystal Lake?
Joining Linda Cardellini is a supporting cast that includes William Catlett ("Black Lightning"), Devin Kessler ("Godfather of Harlem"), Cameron Scoggins ("Nashville"), and Gwendolyn Sundstrom. Recurring cast includes Callum Vinson (as young Jason), Nick Cordileone, Joy Suprano, Danielle Kotch, and Phoenix Parnevik.
"Crystal Lake" has been in the works for several years now, first earning a series order back in October 2022. "Hannibal" boss Bryan Fuller was originally slated to serve as showrunner, but stepped down in 2024, teeing up Brad Caleb Kane to take the reins.
The "Friday the 13th" franchise produced 12 feature films beginning with the original 1980 slasher, and including 2003's "Freddy vs. Jason" and a 2009 remake. A TV series also ran from 1987-1990 titled "Friday the 13th: The Series." It produced 72 episodes over three seasons, but aside from its title, the show had no connection to Pamela or Jason Voorhees.
