"NCIS" fans are getting to know numerous new special agents in "NCIS: New York," and Wyatt Hill could easily become a fan-favorite character. Played by Shane Harper, Wyatt puts his determination and crime-solving skills on full display alongside familiar faces like Sam Hanna (LL Cool J) and newcomers like Jacqueline Byers' Addison Ross.

Harper might look a little familiar to avid TV watchers, and there's a good chance "NCIS: New York" viewers have seen him before. Toward the beginning of the actor's career, he appeared in multiple Disney Channel shows and movies. Harper played a dancer in "High School Musical 2" and guest-starred as Fidel in a 2011 episode of "Wizards of Waverly Place" before landing his first major TV role as Teddy's (Bridgit Mendler) boyfriend Spencer Walsh in all four seasons of "Good Luck Charlie." Soon after that, Harper had a recurring role as Austin Welch in the MTV teen comedy series "Awkward."

If you streamed the Hulu miniseries "A Teacher," you might recall Harper playing the high school jock Logan Davis. Additionally, the Starz crime series "Hightown" cast him as local drug dealer Junior McCarthy in its first two seasons. Harper's more recent endeavors involve a prominent part in the cop drama "Power Book IV: Force," where he portrayed gangster Vic Flynn throughout all three seasons.

Shane Harper relishes the chance to play a complex TV character

When it comes to the types of characters he takes on, Harper previously shared the archetype he enjoys the most while speaking about his career trajectory and experiences working on "Hightown" and "Power Book IV: Force."

"For me what I've honed in on is wanting to play characters that have that kind of war of the worlds inside of them. There's this struggle between what should I do, what could I do, and what am I capable of doing," he said during a 2022 interview with Pop Culturalist. "I grew up doing musical theater and stuff like that. I made my way as a young actor on a family sitcom. I like making diverse choices with characters if I can. I'm looking to do things that people may not expect, which is funny."

On the heels of completing his arc in "Power Book IV: Force," Shane Harper is returning to the world of crime drama franchises, though this time he stars in a beloved police procedural. Now a special agent instead of a criminal, Harper is breaking new ground as Wyatt Hill in "NCIS: New York."
