The Reagan brothers are together again: Will Estes will reprise his "Blue Bloods" role as Jamie Reagan in the Friday, November 6 episode of "Boston Blue" (CBS, 10/9c), reuniting with TV brother Donnie Wahlberg for the first time since the original series ended in December 2024. Newly released photos offer a first look at their reunion.

In the episode, titled "Blood Diamonds," Jamie's visit to Boston takes an unexpected turn when he and Danny become embroiled in a diamond heist connected to a violent family feud. Per CBS' official logline, the case will force the brothers to "confront lingering tensions of their own."

For Wahlberg, reuniting with Estes was an emotional experience both on and off camera.

"Man, what a wonderful experience that was for both of us... to reconnect," he tells TVLine. "We played all this history, but we have history off screen, too, and we haven't spoken in a while.... It was very healing... and wonderful... and emotional.

"Whenever somebody from 'Blue Bloods' comes aboard, something very special happens on screen and off," he explains. "Our cast and crew are so receptive to them and so appreciative of them, and they're appreciative back.... I don't think 'Boston Blue' needs validation from 'Blue Bloods,' but the fact that these characters from 'Blue Bloods'  offer so much to 'Boston Blue,' it does mean a lot. I can see how much it means to all of us in the cast."

What Brings Jamie Reagan to Boston?

When TVLine previously spoke with "Boston Blue" creators Brandon Margolis and Brandon Sonnier, who penned the story for "Blood Diamonds," they revealed that Jamie would be visiting Boston for a police conference connected to developments in his career.

"He is embracing a new role in his [professional] life, just like he's embracing the role of father in his life," Sonnier teased, adding that the work-related trip would allow Jamie and Danny to reconnect after living apart for several years. (As revealed in "Boston Blue" Season 1, Jamie and his wife, Vanessa Ray's Eddie, welcomed a son, Joey Francis Reagan, named after Danny, Erin, and Jamie's late brother, Joseph, and their father, Frank.)

Estes' "Boston Blue" episode, directed by "Chicago Fire" alum Monica Raymund, will also see Mae (Gloria Reuben) face a difficult case after a swatting incident results in a man's death; Lena (Sonequa Martin-Green) investigates suspicious deaths connected to one of Reverend Peters' (Ernie Hudson) parishioners; and Sarah (Maggie Lawson) and Seth (Mike Vogel) encounter an unexpected hurdle while planning their wedding.
