Disney+ is enrolling its subscribers in an another semester at Crescent Veil, renewing the supernatural drama "Coven Academy" for Season 2, TVLine has learned.

"Coven Academy" stars Malina Weissman as Briar, the newest student at a New Orleans boarding school for young witches and warlocks, overseen by the mysterious Miss Graves (Tiffani Thiessen). Once arriving at Crescent Veil Academy, Briar formed a powerful bond with her new coven — mind-controlling Sasha (Jordan Leftwich) and time-bending Tegan (Ora Duplass) — as well as a romantic bond with a brooding vampire named Ollie (Louis Thresher). Briar's season-long quest to solve her mother's murder brought her close to Jake (Malachi Barton), a warlock who dabbled in dark magic at the behest of his own twisted father.

The teen drama's entire 21-episode first season became available to stream on Disney+ on Friday, October 1, following its linear premiere on Freeform the night before. For non-Disney+ subscribers, episodes will continue to air on Freeform throughout the month of October as part of the network's "31 Nights of Halloween" lineup.

"Coven Academy" was created by Tim Federle, who serves as showrunner alongside Todd Slavkin and Darren Swimmer. Executive producers include Federle, Slavkin, Swimmer, Kimberly McCullough, Bronwyn North-Reist, and Amanda Row.

What to expect in Coven Academy Season 2

The first season of "Coven Academy" ended with a number of game-changing reveals, including Miss Graves being Briar's biological mother, Sasha's presumed-dead brother Mason being alive (and a vampire!), Jake's sister McKenna being in the process of transitioning after being bitten (and just as things were heating up between her and Tegan!), and Ollie leaving town until he can become the man that Briar deserves. On top of that, a mysterious dark cloud has formed over Crescent Veil, a troubling metaphor for the danger still to come.

Speaking with TVLine about potential Season 2 plans, Tim Federle says Briar is likely going to confront Miss Graves with "a lot of questions around why she was given away and the details around her birth"; Ollie will likely return to Bristol to come out as a vampire to his family; and Tegan will stay by McKenna's side through whatever comes next, with Federle promising to be "really mindful of the tropes around queer tragedy."
