The end of "Avatar: Seven Havens" Season 1 brought an explosive revelation, with Pavi (Saheli Khan) and Nisha (Aishu Devan) finally uncovering the truth about their parents and what happened three years ago on the night they were separated. But there's a subtler tease just a few minutes later: After unlocking her root chakra, Pavi sees visions of her past lives, including Korra, Aang, Roku, and Kyoshi. They don't speak, but it's a lot more than we've gotten before, and it could mean a change to one of the biggest "Legend of Korra" controversies.

Book 2 of "Korra" ends with a battle between Korra (Janet Varney) and Vaatu, the eldritch spirit of darkness and chaos, and the natural opposite of Raava, the spirit of light who reincarnates into each new Avatar. During Harmonic Convergence, Vaatu merges with Unalaq to become the Dark Avatar, whose power proves too much for Korra to overcome. After defeating her, Vaatu rips Raava out of Korra's body, and Unalaq attacks the spirit until she shatters. Korra is ultimately able to resuscitate Raava and win the fight, but her connection to her past lives does not return.

Many fans of "Avatar: The Last Airbender" still lament the loss of the past-life connection as a wrong turn for the franchise. But now, in "Seven Havens," set centuries later, Pavi's visions suggest that loss may not be permanent. Could the Avatar's past-life connection finally be healing?

Could Pavi restore the link to the Avatar's past lives?

Let's be clear about what we see at the end of "Seven Havens" Season 1. After dispelling the massive ball of spirit energy advancing on Ellora, Pavi faints and awakens on an astral plane, where she sees her seven chakras laid out before her. Kyoshi, Roku, and Aang appear in the stars as constellations, each performing some bending forms, before Korra takes shape and guides Pavi toward her second chakra.

None of the Avatars speak, and it's possible that the old connections may never be restored. But given that Raava can never be permanently destroyed, and that this new show seems to be all about healing the spirit of the Avatar, it's reasonable to theorize that as Pavi continues to unlock her chakras, her connection to these visions might grow, even beginning to heal the direct tether that was lost hundreds of years before.

"Seven Havens" has already made some big changes to "Airbender" and "Korra," so anything is on the table. Right now, the runway for new Avatar stories is loaded. The new Kuruk show, "Wave of Chaos," is on the way, and "Seven Havens" has been officially renewed through Season 4. If a future season of "Seven Havens" repairs the past-life connection, it would be a massive deal and a full-circle moment that could still preserve the weight and significance of Korra's own story.
