ABC, Showtime Lead GLAAD Award Nominees

ABC — with one drama nod, a few comedy contenders, a daytime soap and Dancing With the Stars in the mix — leads the nominees for this year's GLAAD Media Awards, which honor outstanding images of the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community. This just weeks after ABC landed in the organization's crosshairs for letting Work It (albeit briefly) punch the clock.

All told, ABC came away with eight nominations, including two in news categories. The next most recognized TV outlet was Showtime, with three noms.

Below is a rundown of the major TV races; a full list of GLAAD Media Award nominees can be found here. The winners will be announced at ceremonies held in New York on March 24, in Los Angeles on April 21, and in San Francisco on June 2.
